Kiwitreks Guided Walks
A number of guided walks are now available from Kiwitreks who are based at Kaihu Farm. Have a look on their website for more information.

Kauri Forests.
This is the area of the big Kauri Trees. Several trees can be visited in the Waipoua Forest with walks from 5 minutes to 1 ½ hour.

  • Yakas Tree Walk
  • Te Matua Ngahere
  • Four sisters
  • Lookout Walk

There is a 40 minute walk in the Trounson Kauri Park. Trounson Park is a kiwi sanctuary. The Kauri Coast Holiday Park organizes a guided night walk in Trounson Park. Bookings: 09 439 0621.
It is also possible to do this walk by yourself.

Kai Iwi Lakes
The crystal clear lakes are great for swimming.

Maunganui Bluff
Maunganui Bluff Track: a fabulous coastal walk up this 460 m high bluff, 3 hours return
Day walk: Maunganui Bluff Track via West Coast Beach to Kai Iwi Lakes
